Curriculum

Curriculum is a framework for learning opportunities and experiences. It is a process by which learners obtain knowledge and understanding, while developing life skills. The School programs use the Creative Curriculum, which is a research and evidence – based curriculum.

Supervision

Before children arrive at school, the preschool staff will complete the following daily safety checklist indoor and outdoor.

b. All cleaning supplies/poisons are out of reach from children and stored properly.
c. Classroom/playground and materials checked for cleanliness/broken parts, etc.
d. Supplies checked (i.e., First Aid kit, latex gloves, soap, paper towels, etc.)
e. Daily monitoring of environment – spills, sand, etc. Other serious problems reported to custodian.
f. Upon arrival, each child is observed by the teacher for signs of illness or injury that could affect the child’s ability to participate in the daily activities.

Child Assessment

Preschool assessments of young children are purposeful, developmentally appropriate, and take place in the natural setting by familiar adults. Assessment results will be used for planning and to guide instruction.

Child Guidance and Discipline

Teaching staff will use positive guidance, redirection, and planning ahead to prevent problems.

Snacks/Foods and Nutrition

Attitudes about food develop early in life. The food children eat affects their wellbeing, their physical growth, their ability to learn and their overall behavior.

Sensory Table Activities

We have a sensory table in the classroom for children to stand and play. During sensory play, children are involved in active experience with science and math concepts.
